Job Description
Duties/Pligte
1. Programme administration:
- MPhil applications/registrations;
- Short courses administration and registrations.
2. Academic support to students:
- Providing postgraduate diploma assignment administration and academicsupport to students;
- Responsible for purchasing of textbooks/learning material;
- Responsible for postgraduate diploma summer/winter school logistics.
3. Finance and operations:
- Responsible for financial transactions towards the postgraduate diploma programme;
- Shared responsibility to maintain social media platforms, website and marketing materials;
- Managing venue bookings;
- Maintaining appropriate filing systems for key documentation.
4. Secretarial and ad hoc:
- Performing secretarial duties for academic meetings;
- Performing general receptionist duties should the need arise;
- Any other duties that might be necessary from time to time.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Two-year post-Matric qualification;
- At least three years’ administrative work experience;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
- The ability to perform under pressure;
- Proven organisational skills;
- An independent, responsible, problem-solving, and collaborative working approach.
Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- A tertiary qualification;
- Experience working in a student support role;
- Experience in basic financial administration;
- Knowledge of Stellenbosch University’s central computer systems (e.g., TeraTerm, SUNStudent and SUNLearn).
