Full-Time Assistant Housekeeper by Staffgrid

Job Description

Candidate Responsibilities will include:

  • Do monthly performance appraisals of support function and supervisory level staff within Housekeeping departments
  • Assess efficiency of department workflow and amend if necessary.
  • Assess compliance to standards and do on-the-job guidance /training to address performance gaps and highlight any non-compliance and monitor the resolution thereof.
  • Ensure that a monthly stock take is conducted
  • Ensure that all daily procedures , deliveries and related administration is adhere to
  • Check that linen is condemn and recorded every month
  • Spot check rooms daily and ensure hotel standards are maintained
  • Encourage and maintain effective communication and staff relations within the housekeeping department to ensure effective employee relations
  • To ensure that official records are kept of all guest / staff related issues by way of the prompt response system
  • Ensure 5 star service is provided to all guests
  • Monitor workplace policies, rules and procedures
  • Perform other duties as and when required

Candidate Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric or equivalent
  • A recognised Hotel School Qualification


  • At least 4 – 5 years experience in a 5 Star Hotel environment in a similar position
  • At least 3-5 year staff management experience whilst in a senior capacity

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience and knowledgeable of disciplinary practices in the workplace
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong administration / organisational skills
