G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a based at our operations in Centurion reporting to the General Manager: Finance.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which National Labour Manager plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

The position requires at least 5 years’ experience within a similar environment. Relevant industry related experience would be advantageous.

Review and Monitor Labour Management Effectiveness and Cost Efficiency and Deployment

  • Analyse and interpret labour management trends
  • Propose recommendations on modifications and controls to management as appropriate.
  • Implement recommendations and monitor effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance to local statutory employment terms in both time and attendance system
  • Maintain control of wage rules and shift patterns within approved parameters
  • Audit, monitor and report on compliance to minimum standards of G4S Way
  • Develop and setup processes and procedures to comply to standards where not present, or refine/improve as needed
  • Analyse attendance process and where not  optimal, provide recommendations for change/implementation advice

Efficient and Effective Generation of Reports from a Variety of Databases

  • Regular report generation in line with weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Ad-hoc reports from multiple databases, as required
  • Assist in drafting labour budget
  • Prepare and review actual against budget per site (SPA)

Analysis of Time and Attendance, Wage Records and Payroll Data

  • Analysing and comparing data on a variety of reports, designed to highlight labour inefficiencies and errors.
  • Comparing easy roster reports over periods of time, tracking trends and generating statistics.
  • Communicating results of analysis to relevant management including recommendations on corrective action and/or improvement
  • Analyse and interpret labour management trends
  • Propose recommendations on modifications and controls to management as appropriate
  • Implement recommendations and track progress
  • Ensure compliance to local statutory employment terms in time and attendance system
  • Plan, implement and monitor labour training and workshops
  • Develop and implement KPI reports as per the G4S Way
  • Assist in conducting monthly reviews of wage cost and performance per region with respectively, the ROD and FM in region, and  Operations Director and GM Finance nationally
  • Report on all discrepancies

Ensure Timely Capture and Control of Decentralised Contract Schedules

  • Ensure that contract schedule requirements on ER is maintained, liaising with Sales and Ops to maintain contract requirements
  • Ensure that ER is updated and amended with new and lost business, updating contract requirements.
  • Ensure the decentralized loading of sundry services onto the rostering system

Compliance with Policy and Procedure in Relation to Easy Roster

  • Understanding and complying with relevant procedures and policies
  • Maintain administrative reports related to ER database access and administration
  • Auditing regional easy roster departments on compliance
  • Initiating training on procedure and easy roster for new and existing ER administrators


Minimum Requirements and Experience 

  1. Grade 12 plus relevant  qualification or studying towards diploma degree
  2. 5  Years operational experience within a security environment desired
  3. Understanding of labour practices
  4. Management of team
  5. Knowledge of wage and labour management procedures
  • Working knowledge of wage controls and reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel Skills
