Job Description
Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Safety Officer to be placed in Musina, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Risk Coordinator. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Sound understanding of M&RC and client safety systems, policies and procedures
- M&RC and client risk assessment methodologies and principles
- Sound knowledge of Rand Mutual processes
- Understanding of accident / incident techniques
- Conducting investigations and recording findings
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Trade certificate /Blasting
- Degree / Diploma in Safety, Risk, Health, Environment, Quality, Hygiene or Training Management (preferred)
- COMSOC 1 and 2
- Investigation / Tap Root training (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office [Word, Excel]
- Audit certification for ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Valid First Aid Certificate
. Valid EB driver’s licence
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- Supervisory experience preferred
- 3-5 years’ mining sector experience
- Basic knowledge of mining operations and methods
- Basic knowledge of relevant safety principles and system
- Strata control knowledge
